Federal Court Upholds Atari’s Copyright Claim Against State Farm, Dismisses Other Allegations

Atari Interactive Inc.’s copyright infringement claim against State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. will proceed, following a ruling by a Texas federal judge. The claim stems from State Farm’s use of footage from the 1980s arcade game Crystal Castles in a commercial. However, all other claims in the lawsuit filed by the pioneering video game company were dismissed.
