Former Attorney General Bill Barr Expands Torridon Law with Key GOP Legal Talent to Challenge D.C. Institutions

Bill Barr, the former U.S. Attorney General, is strategically expanding his legal boutique, Torridon Law, with a focus on integrating seasoned GOP lawyers into its ranks. This move is aimed at positioning the firm as a significant competitor in Washington, D.C., historically dominated by longstanding legal institutions.

In March, Torridon Law added Mike Fragoso to its team, appointing him as a partner in the firm’s Washington office. Fragoso, who previously served as chief counsel to Mitch McConnell, is known for his expertise in formulating legal strategies that encompass litigation and policy advice, with a particular emphasis on congressional investigations.

The firm also expanded its strategic advisory arm by hiring Dan Brouillette, the ex-energy secretary under Donald Trump’s administration. Moreover, Cody Reaves, a litigator previously at Sidley Austin, has joined Torridon’s growing roster, which now includes 25 professionals.

Torridon’s recruitment efforts align with its objective to be a formidable option for clients seeking a mix of legal and policy advocacy in the nation’s capital. By building a team composed of individuals with diverse governmental and legal backgrounds, the firm aims to offer comprehensive solutions to complex legal challenges, especially those involving governmental inquiries and regulation.

Through these strategic hires, Torridon Law is gradually distinguishing itself from established D.C. firms, presenting itself as a fresh, capable alternative in a competitive legal landscape.
