Kirkland & Ellis Strengthens Liquidity Solutions Practice with Key Partner Additions

Kirkland & Ellis has bolstered its liquidity solutions practice with the addition of Andrew Gershon and Semhar Woldai as partners within the investment funds group. Their expertise is expected to reinforce the firm’s presence in secondary transactions and related advisory services. The firm announced the new hires on Monday.

Gershon specializes in representing both investor- and sponsor-side clients in various secondary transactions. His portfolio includes fund recapitalizations and restructurings, traditional acquisitions and dispositions of fund interests, as well as tender offers and syndicated acquisitions. Woldai offers deep experience advising private investment fund sponsors on fund formation and structuring, with a particular focus on continuation funds and secondary transactions. She also has a history of representing institutional investors in private fund investments.

This move comes during a time when Kirkland & Ellis, along with other top firms, has made strategic adjustments to its talent and resources. You can read more about the firm’s announcement and the profiles of the new partners here.
