Oregon Jury Grants $35 Million in Latest Wildfire Litigation Against PacifiCorp

An Oregon jury has awarded over $35.5 million to 10 individuals impacted by the devastating 2020 wildfires in the state, marking a significant legal outcome in the ongoing litigation surrounding these events. This verdict includes $5.3 million for economic damages and $30.2 million for non-economic damages, reflecting the severity of the losses endured by the plaintiffs. This ruling is the seventh judgment against PacifiCorp, a parent company of Pacific Power, which was found liable for several wildfires earlier in 2023.
