The Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (Farmer Mac) has appointed Geraldine Hayhurst as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Secretary, effective September 8, 2025. She succeeds Stephen Mullery, who will retire on April 3, 2026, after 25 years of service. Mullery will remain as an advisor during the transition period to ensure continuity.
Hayhurst brings over two decades of legal experience to Farmer Mac. Most recently, she served as Associate General Counsel for Corporate and Compliance at CoStar Group, Inc., where she managed corporate governance, SEC filings, and M&A transactions. Prior to that, she was General Counsel and Secretary at NewPoint Real Estate Capital, providing strategic advice and developing financing products. Her tenure at Freddie Mac included roles as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, where she advised senior leadership and played a key role in creating the company’s multifamily K-deal securitization product. She also has experience as an Attorney-Advisor at the SEC and has worked at law firms A&O Shearman and Clifford Chance.
