PETA Foundation Appoints Jeffrey Kerr as Inaugural Chief Operating Officer to Enhance Animal Rights Advocacy

The PETA Foundation has appointed Jeffrey Kerr, its longstanding Chief Legal Officer, as the organization’s inaugural Chief Operating Officer. Kerr, who has been with the foundation for nearly three decades, has played a pivotal role in shaping its legal strategies and operational frameworks.

Since joining the PETA Foundation in 1993, Kerr has led the world’s largest legal team dedicated to animal rights. Under his leadership, the team has achieved significant legal victories, including the first cruelty-to-animals convictions of factory farm employees and the largest seizure of animals in U.S. history. His efforts have been recognized by Corporate Counsel magazine, which named his team the 2017 Best Legal Department—the first animal protection group to receive this honor. In his new role as COO, Kerr is expected to oversee the foundation’s daily operations, ensuring that its mission to protect animal rights is effectively implemented across all departments. His extensive experience in legal affairs and organizational management positions him well to drive the foundation’s strategic initiatives forward.

The PETA Foundation continues to be a leading force in the animal rights movement, advocating for the ethical treatment of animals through various campaigns and legal actions. With Kerr’s appointment as COO, the organization aims to strengthen its operational capabilities and further its impact in promoting animal welfare.
