Princeton Equity Group Names Paul Kuppich as Partner and General Counsel, Strengthening Strategic Growth

Princeton Equity Group has appointed Paul Kuppich as Partner and General Counsel, a move that underscores the firm’s commitment to scaling its platform and strengthening investor partnerships. Kuppich will focus on capital formation and firm strategy, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous roles.

Prior to joining Princeton, Kuppich served as a Managing Director at Piper Sandler, following its acquisition of Aviditi Advisors, the alternative investments advisory firm he co-founded. At Aviditi, he oversaw project management, built investor relationships across the Northeastern U.S. and Canada, and originated new mandates. His earlier experience includes work with the Credit Suisse Private Fund Group and a legal career at Weil, Gotshal & Manges.

Jim Waskovich, Managing Partner at Princeton, expressed enthusiasm about the appointment, stating, “Paul has been a trusted advisor to Princeton since our early days, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the partnership.” He highlighted Kuppich’s track record in fundraising and investor relations as invaluable assets for the firm’s continued growth.

Doug Kennealey, also a Managing Partner, emphasized Kuppich’s alignment with Princeton’s core values, noting, “Paul brings a true partnership mindset and a deep understanding of what matters most to institutional investors.” He added that Kuppich’s qualities of collaboration, humility, and long-term business building are central to Princeton’s culture and success.

Kuppich himself expressed excitement about his new role, stating, “Princeton is an increasingly recognized leader in the franchisor and multi-location space, focused on driving outperformance through its experience and ability to evolve and stay ahead.” He looks forward to contributing to building enduring value for the firm’s companies and investors through a commitment to innovation, hard work, and character.

This appointment follows a series of strategic moves by Princeton Equity Group to bolster its leadership team. In December 2024, the firm announced four internal promotions, including the elevation of Phil Piro to Partner, recognizing his contributions over nearly seven years with the firm. Additionally, in March 2024, Princeton welcomed Jeremy Wright as an Operating Partner to provide tactical support to the firm’s portfolio companies and drive strategic and operational initiatives.

Princeton Equity Group is among the most experienced franchisor and multi-location investors in the United States, managing approximately $1.6 billion of assets. The firm exclusively invests in leading franchisor and multi-location companies, viewing each investment as a long-term, supportive business partnership with founders and management teams.
