North Texas Real Estate Information Systems, Inc. (NTREIS), the primary multiple listing service (MLS) for North Texas and Northwest Louisiana, has appointed René Galicia as its Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Galicia, a seasoned professional with over two decades in the real estate industry, will oversee strategic operations and serve as NTREIS’s principal legal advisor. This move underscores NTREIS’s commitment to mitigating operational risks and enhancing regulatory leadership in a rapidly evolving real estate landscape.
Galicia’s extensive background includes nearly 15 years in progressive MLS leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer of the Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS), where he managed daily operations and advanced thought leadership on key industry issues. Prior to CMLS, Galicia held positions such as Executive Vice President, Policy Counsel & Strategic Partnerships at Bright MLS, and Director of MLS Engagement at the National Association of Realtors. His tenure at California Regional MLS saw him directing Compliance & Data Licensing for 38 associations.
In his new role at NTREIS, Galicia will support strategic planning, member and shareholder engagement, technology and data governance, vendor and partnership management, compliance and risk management, and business development efforts. Galicia, a licensed attorney with a Juris Doctor from Pacific Coast University School of Law, specializes in MLS legal and operational matters. He holds certifications including CMLX3, RCE, Professional Standards Administrator, and RESO RED-B, and has served on the CMLS Board and NAR’s Federal Technology Policy Committee.
