Selendy Gay Elsberg, an elite boutique firm founded six years ago by partners who previously worked for Quinn Emanuel, has revealed that named partner David Elsberg is leaving to start his own outfit. Since its establishment in 2018, Selendy Gay has blossomed to almost 80 law professionals, comprising 18 partners and around 60 associates, bolstered by some 70 staff and bench lawyers. The firm has confirmed plans to extend its office space to four floors from the current two in its ongoing building to cater to its expansion.
The firm has expressed gratitude for Elsberg’s contributions, wishing him success in his new venture. “Our firm has had six years of extraordinary growth. We are proud to count the world’s most forward-thinking companies and successful individuals as our clients,” the firm said.
In an own statement, Elsberg unveiled his plans for the upcoming launch of his new firm, Elsberg Baker & Maruri. He will be partnering with Rollo Baker and Silpa Maruri, both partners at Quinn Emanuel.
- Rollo Baker is currently co-chair of the firm’s corporate governance litigation practice.
- Silpa Maruri serves as co-chair of the firm’s Delaware practice.
Discussing his ambitious plans, Elsberg said, “I’m very excited about reuniting with my former Quinn colleagues, Rollo and Silpa, to launch our premier litigation and trial firm, Elsberg Baker & Maruri, where we will hit the ground running on large, complex commercial cases from day one.”
Further, he expressed appreciation towards his former firm and hopes to collaborate with his erstwhile colleagues in the future. “I’m thankful for the years I’ve shared with my colleagues at Selendy Gay Elsberg and look forward that the two firms will work together and maintain a close relationship for years to come,” Elsberg said.
