A Virginia judge has decided to allow former George Mason University law professor Joshua Wright’s $108 million lawsuit against two former students to proceed to trial. The case, involving accusations of sexual misconduct made by the students, is set to begin in March. The defendants, Elyse Dorsey, a Kirkland & Ellis partner, and Angela Landry, a counsel at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, argued that their statements were protected under Virginia’s Anti-SLAPP statute, but Judge Patrick Blanch of the Circuit Court of Fairfax County, Virginia, denied their plea in bar.
